What We Believe
Our denominational roots are in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
We believe people need Jesus. We believe our world and our relationships work better when people live and love like Jesus. We also believe that when we intentionally create spaces for people in different generations to worship Jesus and to serve Jesus and to learn about Jesus together that good things happen.
We believe that we follow Jesus and share His love by serving both in our community and around the world.
Locally, Concordia has served the teachers and students of our neighborhood school, Camarena Elementary, at various times throughout the year. We also partner with South Bay Community Services, the San Diego Food Bank, and Urban Refuge in serving the homeless and other needs that we learn about.
Internationally, we believe that we are most effective by partnering with local ministries who are there to serve the people year round. For that reason we have chosen four international ministries to support and serve.
Our denominational roots are in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
It began on a dirt field in the middle of a developing neighborhood of new homes that were marketed to military and young families...
Growing together in Christ, and as a church happens together in group.

Since 1998 we have been a key partner for the ministry across the border in Tijuana. Mil Generaciones serves children, single mothers, the elderly, and families in outlying areas of Tijuana. Through that work of helping out and doing good, Mil Generaciones also assists in planting mission churches and beginning new ministries. People understand Jesus’ love when it is wrapped up in tangible service.

During COVID more than 200k relief kits were distributed by Mission India partners.

Through a simple shoebox filled with school supplies, hygiene items and a small toy, children in need around the world are brought joy. They also receive a children’s Bible course and a connection to a local church. Children are uniquely open to the message of the Gospel. OCC has been a Concordia mission partner since 2015. In 5 years we have packed 3,143 boxes for children! In 2021, we packed 448 boxes! Please pray for each child who will receive the gift of love that comes in these shoeboxes!

Our newest outreach is to orphaned children in Guatemala. We support a group home and children who are receiving loving care and are learning about Jesus. In non-COVID times, we visit Guatemala with family mission teams every two years. When we visit, we choose a project which will serve families and communities. On our last trip, we served a village by providing life saving water filters for the residents of this village and for the local public school. We also held events for the community with a team of local church ministry leaders.
